With a VLSD unit, there is no conclusive test other than a road test (which is at times inconclusive), that will give you a definitive answer

see above.

Well my old P11 and my new 16ve both spin the tires in the same direction. So I guess we can't go by that. Do a burn out Jenc

OK here's how it works.

Open diff & HLSD, spins opposite in gear or out of gear when you manually turn a wheel.
VLSD, spins SAME direction in neutral and OPPOSITE in gear when you manually turn a wheel and overcome the VLSD resistance.
Mechanical spins the SAME direction under all circumstances unless its broken.

Okay, so that's how it works. Nissan didn't produce HLSD transmissions in Sentras. When in neutral on the lift, both wheels should spin the same direction. This is what we've been talking about. When he spins the tire in neutral on the lift, they spin opposite directions. Either someone swapped the LSD unit in his car, or the LSD unit is shot and isn't giving him the problems others have had.

Yeah when i put it on the lift today im going to check it in gear and Neutral and see what happens. I still dont wanna do the burn out test cause that puts so much load on the tranny and if something is really wrong with my tranny i dont wanna risk breaking it

problems solved. When its in neutral they both spin the same direction when its in gear it turns oposite directions... or vise versa i forgot already cause i did the test like hours ago
