Weird Problem ( Tranny)
Ok So i was under my Sentra fixing an exhaust leak at my shop. My boss was welding her up putting in the finishing touches and i finish bolting everything up. When i finish i started to clean my wheels. I started to spin it and i notice that the other wheel was going the oposite way. Only problem is my tranny has LSD. I checked for the bulge on the tranny. I even went back to my other tranny that i just pulled from my nx that has LSD and it has the same bulge. And i swear that both my wheels use to spin in the same direction. So is my tranny screwed up? It drives fine with no problems but i have herd horrible storys of cars shaking really really bad or them being bearly drivable when the LSD goes out. Any thoughts?

IIRC the VLSD unit can either be shot, or not engaging without any pressure on the drive axle?

EDIT:

Where the hell have you been anyway? Haven't heard from you in a few days. Everything good?

They are supposed to turn opposite directions when off the ground.
Your LSD is working right.

I've driven a fwd car that the differential went out in, and trust me, you'll know. The entire car would buck like mad at times, It was not driveable, really horrible experience. You may only have one wheel drive right now, (not sure about which way the wheel spins when off the ground, but yea both going forward makes sense) but as far as being able to drive it you should be ok. You know how to test it: ======== or -----------

Ok seriously tho you should wait for someone to answer with a better test method.

I had a long argument with some kid in my auto class i took a few years ago about this, your trans is fine. Just to give you an example, my 03 Spec V's wheels spun in opposite directions and it has HLSD,and my 08 Spec V had HLSD and the wheels spun in opposite directions also. My b13 se-r back when i was rocking a non LSD trans; the only one wheel would spin and my LSD trans i have now they both spin in opposite directions.

Interesting, I didn't know that.

Can you enlighten me as to why the transmission in his NX2K had both tires spinning the same direction when off the ground? Both vehicles are in neutral at time of testing.
