yes if your using a non lsd trans. The rear cases are identical.

Sure, but I think you'd be better off just finding a non-LSD. You can find non-LSD P11/B15 transmissions for pretty cheap. There's a B15 non locker on car-part.com for $250.04.

Bling. I think I stated earlier that i won't go near a viscous LSD.

Yeah people are ****ing mad asking as much as they do for b15/p11 trannys.

Hell for $300 you can pick up QR25 6spds. So why would I ever pay more for a 5spd?

and may i ask why you wont go near a viscous lsd. There is a big difference between not having lsd and having it.

My buddies basic t25 nx2k at 9psi with the lsd trans will spin through 1st and 2nd and chirp 3rd. He went with a b15 non lsd for a little while and was spinning all the way through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and some of 4th. Not to mention the whole torque steer crap was way way out of hand without the lsd

Went back to an lsd and now its perfect..

So explain yourself please................

I never said I wasn't going to run an LSD, just never ever a viscous unit. They are okay for stock power, but even so, they don't really work all that well. Drag racing is fine on a viscous.

I will use a phantom grip style unit, and see how that's going to fair. Otherwise I will use a Nismo unit or upgrade to the 6speed and get the Helical unit.

Transmission options that bolt on to FWD SR20?
I was reading on another thread in the fs section here: http://www.sr20-forum.com/forced-induction/26746-f-s-rs5f50v-5-speed-trans.html

(Hope it's ok with the op)

So from what my understanding is that altima transmission will bolt up the fwd SR20 block but a hydraulic conversion is needed and a tranny mount will need fabrication. If so wha axles would be needed? Also are they actually stronger than a sr20 transmission?

I'm really looking into to this as this may be another option.

You need the SR20 bellhousing that works with the RS5F50A. That much I know for sure. You should be able to convert it to cable just like any other FWD gearbox.

Altima trans will not bolt up ....You would have to source a Belhousing from the UK / Japan... Best to just use a B15 or P11 or just find a complete trans from the UK / Japan , but the cable conversions will take some work since there is not a bracket mount, you will have to convert your car to a Hyd. clutch or do a full custom cable setup !! And yea, mounts are completely different !!...again ...B15/P11 is an easy bolt in swap and will handle just about anything you can throw at it .....

We ran a P11 LSD trans in the G20 ... 400+ whp launched at 7000RPM on big 26.5x8x15 slicks ...

Altima style trans is the same setup as used in the GTi-R ... Strong Trans. but I bet only slightly stronger than the B15/P11 .... Also finding an LSD Altima Trans. would be PITA !!! Since they were only available for 2 years ...93-94 SE with ABS or some GXE with ABS .... Also the gearing splits suck in the Altima trans. ... You can use GTi-R gears to help but at that point you are investing a huge amount of $$ in a trans when you dont have to !!

Shawn, The RS5F50A isn't just an altima transmission. There has been discussion on this. in Japanland, the RS5F50A was used on an SR20 with SR20 Bellhousing that can only be acquired from Japanland.
