I haven't pulled my intake manifold in a long time, but it seems like it might be easier though to just unbolt the manifold from the head rather than just take out the plenum. That way you can pull the entire assembled intake manifold out from the top. Plus, you'll have more angles to attack the hose from.
Swiss, engine pic is sexy. I remember looking at that pic when I did my hose.
Good luck man, this is truly a hellish repair.
