off I go... wish me luck...

I haven't pulled my intake manifold in a long time, but it seems like it might be easier though to just unbolt the manifold from the head rather than just take out the plenum. That way you can pull the entire assembled intake manifold out from the top. Plus, you'll have more angles to attack the hose from.

Swiss, engine pic is sexy. I remember looking at that pic when I did my hose.

Good luck man, this is truly a hellish repair.

dphilips, I bought my car with a PS leak. It was coming from the high pressure side at the connection way up high by the passenger's side strut tower bar. Tightening it fixed the problem. 7 years later no issues.
I don't know if that's a common failure point though.

Almost every B13 has a leaky power steering reservoir. That I know for sure.
Many people upgrade to the B14 unit to solve this (myself included).

Otherwise I don't know of any other common issues. Our systems shouldn't leak once the reservoir is replaced with the B14 unit. Good luck.

Read the title and Igot horrible flashbacks! :Shudders:

Anywhoo, most likely it'll be the hoses on the back of the block, I will be replacing those with silicones units, as MR-4DR-SR20DET did.

The silicone units I got were near impossible to get on, the smaler hose was just a little too small so a lot of force was needed. I had todo it again because when I put the intakemanifold on the new hose clamp was in the wrong place and crushed the metal pipe. I ended up using tbolt clamps. Now I have anouther leak on the idle up valve. Fun times!!

So what do the guys with leaky b14 units get, then? B15 units? No lies, my car has several PS leaks and I'm just about fed up with having to repair them, so I plan to pull the system all together. I'm thinking I can alter the rack with the motor in the car, if using a lift. I'll be checking into it in the spring.

After all, it'll clean the bay up more

I no longer have ps in the G20, recently took it out. Car has 205/50/15 Azenis with a small ebay steering wheel and it's not that bad, just start turning when you start moving.

I got fed up with the constant leaks plus I now have a much emptier engine bay.

Hey Guys just to add to this. If you own a 94 Nissan has f'd up data for 94 motors,. Get the hoses for a 95 low port. Same hose placement. Also this job can be a big pain in the ass. Like somebody else said there is very little room back there to work. I replaced the hoses on my lowport while it was on an engine stand but it was still a decent amount of work. What you might find is that the hoses will be very hard to spin off because of age.

You'll just have to keep pulling and trying to rotate. I'd suggest buying some hose grease so you can avoid the same problem if you ever have to take the hoses off a second time.

Ok, Well im back at it again today.

I got the silicone hoses installed after removing: Upper intake, lower intake, starter, hard coolant lines, and numerous connectors and other smaller hoses.

Now as I am ready to start reassembling everything I am seriously thinking about takin a little bit more time and replace everypiece of rubber hose I can get to. Just because I do NOT want to do this again.

So anyone have part#s for the coolant hoses behind the motor I mean the smaller ones that go to different valves and such. I think some go to the throttle body as well.
