those pads you apply to the back of the brake pad seem to work just fine for me?

If you do any SERious track driving, they might melt, and/or smoke and/or stink.

interesting concept, although I see no problems with what we've got now.

This almost seems like the same deal they do with new medicines for new "disorders"
"Hey, I made this new pill. What can I have it cure?"

As far as I'm concerned, it's not needed.

It sounds nice in theory.

As long as they can take the heat I don't see any reason they wouldn't do well.

Hello SR20 forum,

NUCAP Industries, the creator of the Nu-Lok Piston Cushion, has done a multitude of tests in our in house R&D center as well as independent testing facilities. These tests include evaluations on our R&D test vehicles, dynamometers, and local garages, in order to gain a better understanding of the daily use of the Piston Cushion in action. This product indeed does work by introducing a floating shim technology to the brake pad and caliper interface. This floating shim acts as a dampener when vibration is created during braking operations. To add to the dampening effect of the Piston Cushion, a dual layer of nitrile rubber on a steel core is used, for an improved NVH property. Please visit our website at NUCAP :: NU-LOK Piston Cushion and visit “The Performance” tab for further test results.

- We have done multiple tests on many different applicaitons with positive results, you can view the results further on our "The Performance" tab

- automotive industry uses a standard SAEJ2521 brake test for noise assessments, J2521 test bring the rotor up to high speed multiple times and apply emergency style braking, we have had shown little to no melt/smoke during these test

- current products are focused on the brake pads themselves, with the Piston Cushion we are focusing on the brake/caliper interface which has been found to be a problematic area for brake noise

- our product were designed to prevent heat transfer over the brake/caliper interface, reducing the chance of “brake boil” during extreme braking conditions, therefore the material used is designed and can withstand high heat applications

Feel free to post any inquiries and we will try our best to respond.

Thanks,
NUCAP Industries

Welcome to the forum NUCAP! Interesting to see product manufactures answer questions directly

How much are these going to cost? I'm having a hard time finding them at Napaonline.com

nu cap - what is the amount of heat rage that the brakes see in the lab and have u tested them on a track or just in a lab. The lab results only show the noise range...?

cheers
