Well not all N1 trannies come with the Nismo LSD and quicker gears. Most are just like the standard SR16VE

Well if you got a tranny with a Nismo LSD which cost $750 and you cant get them any more. The Nismo N1 tranny is by far the best tranny for NA. You dont need B15 and P11 trannys for NA as they dont have high torque output that will break the 3rd gear so....

Consider a SR16VE tranny $600
Nismo LSD $750
You pay someone to install it $200

and you still dont have the wicked gear ratios.

I gotchu now. I know the P11's arent ideal for drag N/A cars, but $1200 is a dang good price your tranny. This info is nice to know. Sounds like you should hold onto this once Dre.

So the best gear box for NA is no longer the B13/B14 box with the 4.44 final drive?

The tranny for my project B13 is a B13 box w/ 4.44 FD and Nismo LSD would the Nismo N1 transmission be better gear ratiors than the one I have now as far as acceleration goes?

The Nismo N1 box would be the way to go but this thing is so rare you will never find it.

The B13 - B14 box with 4.44 FD is the way to go.

Thats how its was. An options with some nismo specials released. The final drive was always the same too. All the info i have points to that.

Only 232 N1's were made. This included 200 versions 1's and only 32 version 2's.

This is quoted by Autech Japan 2 years ago. Some people insist more was made, but every bit of japanese writiting i have seen says 200 were made.

Good luck getting a nismo N1 tranny.

Only 20 or so were sent out with actual cars.
To get nismo parts back in the era i beleive you had to be a race team.

Even recently when i tried to get nismo N1 parts such as nismo control arms and cams, they wanted verification and proof the car was being raced in a production car series and then wanted a stupid price ontop!!

I will sell it, I dont need a tranny like that on my SR23VE motor.

I will be happy with a B13 - B14 tranny with 4.437 FD

The 32A B13 box with nismo LSD and a Mfactory 4.785 FD would also make for quite a nice NA setup.

(I'm just curious why nismo and mfactory aren't giving the VLSD guys any love)
