Thread: Trans problem

i was mad at the world yesterday and was taking it out on my car (BAD idea).

i shifted very HARD from 2nd to 3rd and noticed my speedo stopped working and only one tire spun.. since then.. my LSD isnt working and speedo only goes to 20 mph.. what did i break??

b13 stock tranny, no 5th gear pop out, lsd (had), sr20ve.

never had any trans issues before.. running redline mt-90 fluid..

You don't hear anything in the tranny bangin around?

Have you pulled the speedo sensor yet?

tranny still operates fine.. no clunking, nothing..

havent pulled the sensor yet..

ooooo man maybe you killed the LSD??


edit: try jacking up the front and see if one wheel spins in the opposite direction

or start it and put it gear while both ires are off the ground and have someone se if both tires spin or just one

thats what i thought.. but would that make my speedo inoperatable?

depends if you sheared off or some of the teeth on the LSD

Also check your CV joints. How do you know the LSD is not working?

only one tire spins

when hoisted in the air, or when driving it? If when driving, what surface was it on and what were the conditions?
