Just wondering, why are we planning the 2009 convention before the 2008 convention which is still in the making? Should we be worrying about next year first?

Because someone else is supposed to be planning/organizing the Vegas convention.

Also get backups for these people. Like you said, a lot of people will talk the talk, but actually doing it is another story. When I started this process there were 4 main people, once time game to start doing it it 2 dropped out and 1 could only due limited things, but those limited things were huge. 1 person trying to do pretty much all of the organizing, setup, and planning is not easy and should NOT be done. It only hurt in the long run.

PS, don't print packets! Upload it to the forum as a PDF and let people do it themselves. The only thing I would print would be directions.

Packets were a huge cost that could have been avoided with proper planning. After seeing packets the year before it was the new thing to do. As long as directions are made available at the hotel everything else is really just fluff!

I've been working and trying to plan a wedding. You know the normal stuff!

Starting in Madison, WI
I-94 from Madison to Milwaukee
I-94 from Milwaukee to Chicago (82/115)
I-88 from Chicago to Des Moines (140/526)
I-80 from Des Moines to Kansas City
I-70 from Kansas City to Denver (599/604)
I-70 from Denver to I-15 to Las Vegas
Ending in Las Vegas!!!

Note: Red shows toll road routes, with tolled miles vs total miles in parenthesis

I'm all for it, I was kinda looking forward to Vegas, but if we dump it I guess it'll be a smaller crowd and such...eh...

Not sure what roads your talking about but I live in Denver and there arent any toll roads through here. Im down to jump in when you pass though though!

The toll roads I believe aren't at Denver, but before/after Denver. Denver is the one opening on that leg of the route where there aren't tolls.
