I also think a track day is great to see people's expertise really shine, and a lot of people really get a chance to blow me away.

For example a lot of people would think Steve Rockwood's posts are sometimes obnoxious, but he was my instructor, and he knows his sh*t. I got a new respect for him and the other weekend racers.

The track day is a *key event* for the convention. Without the track day its just another meet.

I agree, to me that is the real meet, the real car show.

We get it, you don't like track days, but you do want to do a drag day and car show. Sounds like another HIN or NOPI to me.

The track day is what has separated the SE-R convention from every other car groups get together other than ITRCA. That was/is a point a of pride.

Now you just want to make it into another Floss & Eat show.

Actually, that's the funny thing, I do like track days and don't really care about drag or car shows personally. My point was that a convention that caters to a small minority of the community that would participate in an HPDE(me included) doesn't have the best interests of the entire community at heart - even if *I* would enjoy that style of convention more as well.

Sentrixx's point is exactly what I'm speaking to...

I've said my peace and given my input. I think my points were valid when you look beyond yourself at the big picture. If as a forum we decide we want to create our own convention instead of complaining about SERCA and their efforts, then I'm willing to spend my time and money as one of the team of organizers. If not, then that's fine too. I'm sure my wife will be a whole lot happier with me.

So once again, FL ppl suck and don't have any input on organizing future forum conventions because we're not part of SERCA and haven't supported SERCA or it's conventions in the past.
