Head gasket installation [pics]
I think I just screwed this up. What do you guys think? Should I go out and get a new gasket or just put the head on and hope it works?
I also ended up getting a little grease on it (not shown).

Yeah I hear what you're saying. It's a fun project, but it would suck to have to go in and re-do it cause I didn't want to spring for the $80 for a new gasket once.

well syou shuold always replace a old gasket with a new one, not only that but you should also have it resurface to make sure the head surface is FLAT...those are a must

Oh yeah it's a new gasket, and the head already got milled flat - didn't take much. My question is that on that (new) head gasket pictured above, would you go out and by another new one and replace it because of how I damaged it? I have already decided to do it, but I was looking for other opinions.

i would DEFINITLY replace that headgasket for sure, could easily cause a leak and then you would have to do it all over again

Use a dab of RTV on both sides. Use black and it'll be fine. Been there done that on my old xe-r. To this day that car is getting a daily beating and no signs of problems.
