Thread: JDM Sensors?

Anyone know which sensors are different between the jdm sr20 and usdm? I see the tps is completely different, anyone know what other ones I need to get?

And also, can I use my ga16 trans and body wire harness for the sr20?

One of the coolant temp sensors are different. I'm pretty sure it's the one that is connected to the ECU, not the dash.

Well, a lot of the plugs look and fit the same on the tranny. The motor came with the jdm harness but that wont work as its a 2 piece harness and the under dash and ecu plugs are all different.

Okay I take that back. I thought you were talking about a JDM SR20DET. You mean a JDM SR20DE? Yah... I have no idea. Disregard what I said about the coolant temp sensor.

From what I heard it's the coolant sensor, I replaced both when swapping in my DET. It would actually make more sense if the one that needed to be replaced was the gauge cluster ones and not the ECU one. Because inside the BIN files, all values are set as per C* not F*.

Honestly though, just replace them with USDM ones, brand new ones at that.

O2 sensor will be another one that you will need to replace, JDM ones tend to be "Skinny" while the USDM ones are the fatter ones.

Well, its a w11 avenir. Ill get on the collant temp sensors. As for the tps, I forgot that the plugs are different between auto (which the engine was hooked up to) and manual
