Thread: Cabin Air Filter

I think i may have a problem concerning my air filter, it kind of not filtering as it supposed to do. Found this video on the internet on how to replace cabin air filter. Doesn't seem to be the same with my car. I have a nissan s13

She's right; You definitely need safety glasses and nitrile gloves to replace the cabin air filter in an S13.

s13's do not have a cabin filter... nor do p10,b13's what you have to do is remove evaporator and clean it in a tank of acetone

Cabin air filter and engine air filter are two completly different things Arch. You guys joke about the gloves and glasses but those items are nessesary some times. You find all types of nasty crap in the cabin filter box. Me personally I have found , Dog food/cat food, accorns, leaves, small twigs, dead animals, fur, cottonseed (half a pillows worth) I always show the customers what comes out of their cars and their jaws drop each time.

Yeah I get that too. I love when customers tell me oh I don't need it done if it doesn't smell in my car. Then I show them the one from there car compared to a new one and most customers tell me to change it.

I remember when we had to change our mom's Suzuki XL-7 cabin air filter, she was complaining of a bad smell. Found 3 maggot infested baby squirrels looking like they were trying to claw their way through the filter.

Has anyone tried to make a cabin air filter from a normal home furnace filter by cutting it up. I heard it works pretty well and wanted to ask around see what others thought about it. Seems like a good idea, you can make a lot of cabin air filters from one furnace filter.
