Thread: porting the low port intake mani

So has anyone ever done this I mean hell its super easy and could possibly net some gains. I'm just interested to see some pics and hear some opinions on this.

Also is there any other nissan throttle body that will directly bolt up which is a bit bigger then the stock g20 low port tb?

Overkill Engineering has bored out stock throttle bodies that sound like they are right up your ally. They are a great product. I can't find the thread right now though.

Yes people have ported the low port intake manifold. Yes there are gains to be had. As always head work is where the real gains are, with work on the manifold to match. Maybe someone else will have pics or better info.

Don't quiet have a low port, but they are all similar in design. A Ported manifold is the best mod for a T25 IMO. It allowed me to not loose any power above 6,500 RPM. I could hit the rev limiter at 7,500 without a problem.

The first time I hit the rev limiter I didn't know what happened, since I never hit the rev limiter on the T25.

Thats great since I will be running a t25, any one have any pics? Lets keep this discussion going I want to hear others imputs as well.

One of my concerns is actually porting the plenum area I want to port it a good size but I worry about the gasket not sealing under boost....any opinions?

Uh you don't want to widen it. Just shave off the imperfections, and polish it then. Keep it rough after the injectors though, and do not touch the head.

So you wouldn't recomend making them bigger at all? Can you explain why more in depth?

Because you will screw it up. Simple as that.

If you take it to a pro shop, then you can get them to do what ever you want as long as you pay up.

Another reason is the gains would be too negligible to notice, a ported manifold on an NA car would get you 1-5whp tops. On a boosted car 10-20 if your lucky.

10-20 is nowhere near negligible, I wouldn't waste my time with n/a.

I thought if I opened them up at the top it would increase velocity, and all i would do at the bottom part would be to gasket match it.
