Now, i have plenty of access to a press. The pain is having to take the control arm off. It's a lot more complicated on the P10. But I'm not going to buy a new control arm. BTW, the ball joint was $15.

.. EVERYTHING YOU DID THERE CAN BE DONE WITHIN 30 MINS ON BOTH SIDES WITH AN AIR COMPRESSOR AND PRY BAR.

Under normal circumstances, I would agree. My red car has never given me a problem removing the control arms and ball joints.

this car, however. I have a 60-gal air tank, impact, air hammer, air ratchet, pry bar, breaker bar with a pipe, full set of impact sockets, I rented a pickle fork with air hammer attachment.

One of the bolts was so rusted, it may as well have been welded. The Impact did nothing, I used a 5-foot length of pipe and I'm glad I didn't break my socket. It took me 2 minutes of hammering with the pickle fork (air hammer) to break loose. The Ball joint had to be pressed out. 10-lb steel mallet didn't even scratch, air hammer just deformed it.

I had to take that nut off this weekend. Just hit it with a REALLLY big hammer. I bought new ball joints from AZ and it came with the cotter pins in the package.

No, but their pickle forks suck balls. One of my friends needed one so we went cheap and bought one at harbor freight. We got back to his place and i swear it was 2 hits with the hammer and the pickle fork broke in half. Needles to say it was quite funny. We went and bought a better one at sears if i remember correctly.
