B15 tranny not lining up with rear mm bracket???
I recently was about to finally mount my B15 tranny(courtesy of the great greg V) on my VE when I got the spline in and started to bolt it up everything it all looked fine until i got to the rear mount mount and the bracket that bolts to the tranny....It wasn't even close! The shifter bar was even rubbing on the front sway bar.

First the tranny is sitting to low and the bolt holes are about 1-2inches away even after jacking them???

My next issue is the tob keeps coming unhitched from the fork its attached to, i am using a old tob , so do i need to b15 TOB or is there something else?

Please help me here guys. I finally have the perfect set-up and really want to drive my car

So anybody that has mounted a b15 tranny did you have these same issues??? If so what was the fix??

thanks

how did you jack it up? i put the jack towards the rear of the transmission and lift it so that it basically twists the motor towards the front of the car then the mount lines up. also do you have the trans mount on yet because that helps alot in the install of the rear mount

trust me it fits man, jack up the back portion of the trans, You will have to modify the shifter stabalizer washer by cutting a notch in it to allow the shift rod to turn and move without contacting, Just cut enough off the washer to allow clearance and your good.

Ive done several of these. You have to position the trans using a jack. Get your trans mount bolted up if you havent already. Leave the bolt going into the frame through the mount loose so it can move freely and jack up the back by placing the jack right under the shifter rod area where the front and back half of the cases meet.

You can also call Greg V directly and he will walk you through it.

I know for a fact Greg has the install down perfectly.

He walked my mechanic through it like butter.

make sure you have the mount the right way. make sure you have the plate and the dowpins lined up correctly.

I have done atleast 6 trans swaps and everytime they line up perfect guess you got a mysterious problem

I have everything lined up right, but i guess i will have to fiddle with it more?????

Also what about the TOB? DO i need a 2000 se one? Because the one i tryed using is getting binded, so i think its not the right one. I ordered a new 2000 sentra TOB, so i hope that helps. Thanks guys and i will be working on it again in a few days when the new TOB comes.

I will let you all know if i have any more questions..........which I am sure i will. I wish some one or two of you guys lived in the area I need a guy who loves and respects the power of sr20, but thats hard around a neighborhood full of hondas, wrx's, mustangs, and evo's

That was easy....but when you look in the back(towards the firewall) its just totally off????? All the dowpins lined up. All the bolts tighten right up, its just the rear mount is off and the motor seems to be sagging back again towards the firewall?

Anybody live near me? I will make it worth your while....

Also guys the sensors I took from my last tranny dont wire or fit on the new b15 how do you make them work or are they even nessacary?

I am about to just trade it and for a sr16 and cash... Alot easier and it bolts up with no modification whatsoever.

The SR16 will give you just as much trouble, seeing as how you can't install a transmission.
It's not that hard. Jack up the back like people keep telling you.

Or better yet, remove the cross member from the chassis and bolt it to the engine/transmission first. Then bolt it back to the chassis. Might work better.

How aboput the TOB?? Does it have to be a 2000 sentra one or does it even matter?? Because the one i am trying to use is binding and when i had the tranny bolted up except the back mount the TOB came off the clips is suppose to stay on???

I have do this 10 times and never had any of these issues, it wusually bolts right up!
