im not super familiar with this issue with sr's but ka24's and l28et's will not run right if the coolant sensor is messed up..

also i think i read something a while back about someone havin a bad temp sensor an the rad fan would turn on..

i should reground the maf cause as of now its just using the stock grounds / wires

sometimes that maf connection will wiggle off and not make a good connection. If this happens than you will get your problem and also I know on my brothers it will run rich.

Also you are correct about the coolant sensor

to confirm, a bad coolant temp sensor will indeed cause it to run not in full limp mode, but "fail-safe" mode which will cause bad startups, horrible running when cold, and the fans on all the time. It will also cause the injectors to pulse at the same time, rather than sequentially, which is why it runs crappy and will make it rich when at operating temp.

if the injectors are pulsing at the same time, do they make a clicking sound? that ones something i noticed also.. once i got it runnin right the noise went away..

the injectors still work the same, but the computer sends a different signal. I'll post up a pic from the FSM that should explain it all.

hmmm, but would that cause them to make noise? there was a very specific ticking noise while it was in "safe or limp mode" sounded like the injectors.. sounded like all 4 were working together or something.

i suppose it could. All 4 pulsing together as shown above in "fail-safe" would make the injector ticks more prominent. It's not that they'll make a different noise, but it will be 4x louder than normal.

AH i see, well that makes sense then i bet thats what the problem is, i gotta go look in my garage accross town to make sure i still have my spare temp sensors..

looks like they're not to expensive from greg..
