man dont kill me.... i used butt connectors.. i had a few issues with vvl not comming on, temp was in the low 20's or lower tho and after a bit of drivin they started workin again, assuming it was due to thick oil? only happend once or twice.. other then that always pulls strong

my tps dont work either.. idk if that'll factor in anywhere.. she idles @ 800 an it rarely ever "hunts"

When My Car Is @ 14.0-14.2 Volts Is When Temp Goes Nowhere Only Lil Past Bottom Needle...

Sorry About The Caps Again

IM GONNA TRY NEW NGK'S SEE IF THAT BURNS IT OUT

Again, the temp gauge being odd won't cause your car to run weird. It's not used for any portion of engine control. This is an electrical problem you're describing now, not a coolant sensor problem or related.

Took out my DVM and had the key to the on position. Tested the ignitor for juice and it was getting 11.6V. Then I decided to check the dizzy. On the harness side I got from one of the pins a 5.1V or so reading. I then tested it on the dizzy side and it was received about .1-.3! So looks like I need to source a dizzy. I did find the coil wire 12V wire broke from when I spliced in the MSD 8969 unit. Turns out my VVL solenoids also had a loose connection which I believe was the reason my car kept falling out of VVL at the track.

Long story short, turns out that my coil was getting a ****ty signal and not creating any or a good enough spark. I need to go through some parts of the harness and solder up some connections. I'm off to go pop some vvl." POSTED FROM VVL THREAD

now OUT OF ALL THE PEOPLE THIS IS HAPPENING TOO HOW MANY HAVE THE MSD8969 TAKING JUICE RIGHT FROM THE COIL?

Was this something you found out, i.e. was this your post, or are you just thread-crossing and quoting someone else entirely? I'm having a hard time helping seeing as I don't see how this is related to the coolant system. If it's VVL-related, keep it in the VVL thread you pulled it from.

A big question for both of you: if you're running rich, do you have a wideband to confirm this or are there any codes being thrown? Also, since you guys keep on talking about temperatures, do you have a sensor and gauge installed to give absolute (i.e. exact) temperature readout? As convenient as that cluster gauge is, it's not very accurate. It's about as useful as the oil dummy light.

has to be electrical i agree ... maybe its as simple as disconnecting the clutser and reconnecting it.. cant be that easy

are you 100% sure, absolutely verified by testing sure that sensor and gauge are both accurate?

the sensor (both) are new it could be the cluster... but dont have spare to test... im gonna try disconnecting it and reconnecting...
tongiht im gonna verify also the part #s
