Heh, yeah, both give the same readings. But, you are right, OBDII is blue plug and OBDI is red. Connections are different shapes. Sensors themselves are the same.

Well I asked because the temp reading on the ECU is quite a bit different than the gauge reading, and in some cases varies as much as 40 degrees. For instance, whn I first start the car in the morning, the coolant temp reads 60 degrees when it's below freezing outside

the gauge to ecu difference is nominal at operating temps. I don't trust the obdII sensor.

Do me a favor, if you replace the OBDII sensor, can you test the OBDI in a pot of water at various temps, and then the OBDII and record the resistances?

I'll test them if I can get around to it I've got to drop my tranny today and replace it with a P11 LSD unit

we should just make a low winter temp club lol.. i just think its the ve's nature to run cool.. i've come to live with it, however the other day i did see the needle creep to about half way to the middle line, stuck in traffic.. as soon as i started movin it was back down tho.. ALSO had to bump my idle valve thing up a bit because she kept tryin to die at lights, idles still right on the money but no tryin to die on me lol
