well you have got a lot to test, considering how much you bounce around in your diagnosis, you're missing something. Make an educated guess on what the problem is, test it, fix it if necessary, and then move on. You're thinking too much without doing any actual work or testing on the car. You went from cooling system to electrical to spark back to cooling, and have solved and replaced nothing from what I can tell. Time to focus on one problem at a time.

electrical is main thing then... ive changed thermostat in november to new oem one, sensors are new from factory.

the wire was cut and extended with same wire budconnected .. thats for the sensor that has one wire.. the other sensor which has two wires connecting was untouched... but changed to new as well...
i agree i think to much about one thing and start goin overboard..

WINGMAN NARROWED IT DOWN.
it isnt cluster.. it isnt ecu

it has to deal with the wires goin to that one prong sensor

Hmmmmm, when my temp gauge stopped working....my cooling fans stopped working.

Besides the fact that this statement is ridiculously vague, it also doesn't mean one is a result of the other. Believe me when I tell you, the sensor for the dash gauge does not control the fans or the fuel injection or anything. I know thins, forum members know this, and the FSM says it's so.

The little 1-plug sensor has too much variance for the ECU to rely on it as an accurate measure of engine temp, and as such it doesn't use it. This is also the reason there are no distinct temperature labeling marks on the gauge, because the variance is too high to be reliable.

Lol sorry about the vague comment, i thought it was weird they both went out at the same time, the fans probably went out due to me wiring two fans to a single power relay. I say get a aftermarket water temp gauge, they are a must since the oe dash gauge is super unreliable and have known people have blown their motors from trusting that gauge. Sorry for the off topic.

You ever tired unplugging your coolant temp sensor while the car was running? mine would stall out.

At the risk of threadjacking, The OBDII CTS is blue, correct?

I'm running an OBDI ecu with a OBDII-OBDI stepdown. I'm assuming I need a CTS for an OBDI. They're red, correct?

I hadn't thought about this, no wonder the temp reading in Tunerpro is off so much in certain ranges I need to look at the bin and see if I can change what the ECU sees with the CTS.

Well after reading page 4, I guess it really doesn't matter then...
