Shift rod seal?
Did a quick search and didn't find anything. I may not be wording it right though.

My transmission is leaking from where the shift rod goes into the transmission. (there's a rubber boot around it) Anyone know if this could just be a bad seal, and what it's called? Looked at parts diagrams online as well and can't really tell if I'm looking at the right part.

Thanks!

You move the rubber boot up to expose a roll pin holding the strike rod in. Remove the roll pin and rod and replace the seal. put in a NEW roll pin.

The bracket is held in place on the striking rod with a set pin inside a metal bushing, IIRC. I used a small punch to hammer out the set pin, then removed the bushing and pulled off the bracket to get to the seal.

Make sure you buy the correct seal for your year range. The little striking rod boot is different on a B13 and B14. Either seal will work as long as you use the matching boot.

I know I'm digging up an old topic but why start a new one.

Does the roll pin have a part number? I can't even find the part in the drawing
