I've learned a viable lesson while working on my paintball guns. Teflon tape is not a sealant. It's more of a lubricant. Not to mention the high temperatures

I used the red sealant, which is high heat oil pan sealant. Now days I use the Grey stuff, which is what OEM uses for gaskets. I would go to the parts store and compare which one would be better for your application.

Gray for sure is the better choice. I hate the red stuff.
