yes I checked the belt before removing the alternator. Yeah man this car is weird, fine one minute and bad the next. I just want to fix this problem and be done with it. Cheap ass rebuilt alternator.

Went to the parts store today. Store tested both the alternator and battery. Alternator was bad after all, but they said the battery was still good. Lady said it was showing 12 volts, but the cranking amps was low, in the 300 range. Battery is rated at 770 cold cranking amps. So I didn't buy a battery because they said my current one was still good. Well I hope this alternator lasts alot longer this time around.

if your alternator goes bad again, then replace the battery. First thing i thought when reading that resolution was that the battery could still be bad and overworking the alternator. So keep an eye on it, and if it goes bad again just take it back to that store and tell them the battery situation.

Yes I thought about that too. Only reason I didn't pick one up is because they said it was still good. Another reason is this thing cost me $130 so I was light in my pocket.:o

Wow I am a dumb ass. This morning I left the key in the on position for about 9 hours today. I just found out about it like 15 minutes ago. Battery is on the charger right now, how long should I leave it on the charger for? 3 hours good, or should I leave it on over night?

Depends on the charger, but usually a standard charge for 5hrs is good. You might get away with 3hrs, but I'd recommend you charge it overnight so your alternator doesn't get stressed if it's not fully charged in 3hrs.
