Car doesn't fully warm up with cool weather
I have a basic sr20ve setup with short ram intake with pop charger, ssac header, greddy catback, calum basic tune, and a nismo .13 bar radiator cap. The car does not like to stay warm when the weather is 50 or below. Could the radiator cap contribute to this? I just left it on after I swapped motors from a turbo setup.

No it's going to be a thermostat issue. Or less likely, failed water pump or failed coolant temp sensor/wiring/gauge.

Replace your thermostat, I bet its stuck open.

My DE is the same way, always has been. If it's sitting still it'll warm up fine, but once it gets moving it cools back down.

The car warms up fine when there is warm weather and the temp gauge shows normal indication on the gauge slightly below the halfway mark. if the thermostsat was open in warm weather would the car temp warm up quickly and stay a little below the halfway nark?

my car is the same exact way.. im also thinkin its the thermostat.. i've had 3-4 sr's now an this is the only one thats ever ran this cool... when im out drivin an its cold out the needle doesnt go past the first mark on the gauge anymore.. unless im stopped not moving.. not to mention it takes forever to kick the idle down when i start it in the morning.. i bet its the thermostat.. i will be changing it REAL soon..

they prolly rust open or something while they sit waiting to be shipped and installed..

I am in the panhandle of florida and it gets its cold spells every once in a while, but i guess i can get a new thermostat. I never replaced the jdm one that was in the ve. It was a 1998 motor. My idle is fine btw. Oil pressure at idle is about 25-30 even when the needle shows it being pretty cold(after the car has warmed). What is the stock de thermostat temp? 180?

I've changed thermostats and mines still the same. I've also checked with calumsult to make sure it wasn't the gauge.
