Nismoking: when i pulled out my motor, i wasnt able to unplug the knock sensor from the bottom, so i pulled it up and while it was in the air unplugged it but while doing so, the hoist/motor moved forward almost catching my arm in between.

LukaMcCloud: That was the first motor i ever pulled out, lets just leave it as a learning experience.

That's why you push the ecu plug out into the engine bay and leave everything connected when you pull a motor.

Thats what i did when i pulled my 2nd motor. The 1st time i disconnected evrything due to me taking advice from another person. Now, i push the plug into the engine bay and disconnect all the other stuff afterwards.

Either going from the top or bottom I would recommend 4 points. Sure it could be overkill but better safe then sorry is what I always say. I use rope around 1 intake runner and 1 exhaust runner for one side of the engine. I then use chains on two tranny bolts on the foward and aft sides of the engine. A load leveler is highly recommended when installing the engine from the top and bottom. It really helps when installing motor mount bolts.

I have pulled from the top always, done about 50-60 motor swaps now. I can do it by myself in 4 hours taking my time. That is pending no crazy issues like a rusted on cat bolt or something. I have never found it easier to drop it out th ebottom then drag it out, but to each their own. It really comes down to what you are comfortable with.
