How do you adjust the odometer? I'm replacing the guage cluster in my gxe with an se-r unit with tach and want to adjust the odo to read the true mileage of my car and not the 176,000 miles that are on the new cluster.
1. take off the dash trim
2. unscrew the cluster pull it out of the dash and unplug it
3. take apart the cluster, remove the plastic cover and the screw in the back of the cluster
4. with the screws off after you open it up the four separate gauges will come out of the back plastic housing
5. look at the back of the speedo you will notice where the mileage numbers are. there is a steal rod that goes through all of it. All you have to do it push that and pull it out. there are these little plastic stars for each roll of numbers. when you pull out the pin these stars will fall out and the number rolls will now spin freely.
6. reset your miles to where you want it then you need to put the rod back in. slowly push the rod in and replacing those plastic star pieces.
There was a guy from Florida who moved out of state. He turned back his odometer once his car hit over 100K miles. No idea why someone would do that to make the car seem "cleaner". To each there own though.
