at my shop, we charge $150 for MIL diag, i always ask customers if they got gas a week before cuz it could be the gas cap, some of them yell at me and tell me thats absurd and gas cap cant cause the light to come on, $150 later, i tell them its just the gas cap and we just tightened it up and reset the mil, they try to ask for a discount, i tell them its too late, we did our checks, you gotta pay

Thanks for the link klobbersaurus. I will pass the info to my bro.

you should ask them to do the dyno test instead of the code check, then throw on some studded snow tires and only do the idle test, im not sure if thats an option there but it is here

^Ha that's awesome!

I did a e check last month, they took the cap off the car to test it. It apparently failed and they just gave me a free new cap

Sadly that is not an option here. This is California, land of the crazy people. My brother has until mid November to do his free re test. We went to the DMV to get a extension for his car, I didn't know that they didn't give out free extensions anymore. Anyway, it now cost $50 for a extension. So not only did he paid for his car registration renewal, but an extra $50 for the extension as well. So ghey California is.

The state of California is broke. Where else are they going to get money, oh wait... tax Maraquana and legalize it.

You see, not everthing is bad in Cali.
