The brake light was on when I bought my 1.6 200sx from key west I didn't think anything of it and one day I went to hit the brakes and nothing, my metal lines running to the rear brakes blew out. Luckly there was no one in front of me. I come to find out the car was flooded in hurricane wilma 2ft of salt water and the car was "rebuilt". So take anything seriously.

If you are checking the e-brake lever, you may find change jammed or running around the contact switch that triggers the light; I've had that happen before (although it may not be a factor here).

Well I figured it out.

I filled up on brake fluid just below MAX line. Check.

The light was more temperamental so I delved into the e-brake area and found a tricky dime sliding around. Removed it and light is gone. Hooray.

Thanks for the stories, gave me more ideas to check for other things that I thought it may have been. Stupid dime.
