Throttle cable question
Do the automotive parts stores sell a throttle cable for fwd sr20 powered vehicles? Mine seems to be stretched out, that or i need a bracket for a car that doesnt have cruise control, as i am no longer using it anyway.

If i adjust it loosly the tb hardly opens even at wot, and if i set it al the way tight it still only begins to open when the throttle is 3/4 or so pushed in. It may have gotten stretched out from the way i had it with my o2 induction im.

Thanks,Jon

You should be able to obtain one from either the nissan dealership or an autoparts store. Seems like an unlikely situation for something with minimal pressure on it to stretch.

When i swapped from highport to lowport I had to modify the bracket to use the original 91 oem throttle cable. Then when i swapped to VE I had to pretty much make a custom one.

Take off the cable bracket,so how much salck you really have in the cable, drill another hole thru he bracket to take care of the slack. That's what I did. Flawless.

Highport? I got a throttle cable bracket without cruise on it if you want it.

Do you have a pic of it? I may have one as well. I am using a jdm highport im and the car had cruise before but doesnt now, so i am not sure if the cables are different between the 2 or if the cable bracket has a different location on the jdm highport.

I may have to just try drilling new holes on one of the brackets or making a new one altogether. I do find it highly unlikely that it stretched, but the car has been sitting for around 2 years, so between the car accident, sitting and doing the restoration who knows.

Oh, advance auto doest have the cable listed at all anywhere.

Problem solved. I was missing one part of the washers for the cable. Works good now.

Thanks,Jon
