Siphoning Gas out of your Tank
Hey Everyone. I just wanted to ask if anybody has been able to siphon gas out of their car. I have a b13. I bought a kit to siphon the gas out of my crushed Se-R. However the hose is very thin. It bends before even reaching the fuel. I'm thinking there must be a sharp angle into the tank or maybe there is a screen that is blocking the way.

I just wanted to get some opinions before I go ahead and try using a garden hose.

I had similar problems. My solution won't help you. I was replacing my gas tank because of a rust hole in it, so I put that siphon pump hose through the rust hole. Sorry I can't help other than to say I had the same issue.

Do you think bad gas would siphon out? I think this is the reason my car won't start now that it's in the final stages.

I would really prefer to not drop the tank.

Pull the fuel pump out and siphon it from there. You can clean the "sock" filter on the FP while you are at it.
I used a 1x1 shop vac to clean out my tank...check this out

Most Cars post 1990 or something like that (haha) have screens in the filler neck for just this reason. the only way to get past it would be crush the screen over with a metal rod of some sort but then you have a cahnce of debris getting int he tank but i guess you don't mind it. How about removing the fuel filter and siphoning it through there right from the trunk.

just have the fuel pump get the gas out for you rather than siphoning. All it needs is a constant 12v supply and it'll empty that tank in no time. Just have the output of the pump go to whatever canister you're moving the gas to.

Yeah I think I'm gonna go with the pull the fuel pump idea. Wingman that is a good idea to power up the pump. Do you think wiring a car battery directly to the fuel pump will fry it? I've never tried that before.

BJ200sx. The Sentra in my avatar was in an accident. Thats why I call it my crushed Se-R.

So long as it's 12v it should be no issue. A car battery will work just fine to power the pump.
