Next size up?
Is there a table somewhere that tells you what the next size up for tapping a hole is? I have a m10 hole that the threads are stripped. I would like to see if I can't drill out the old threads and retap into them with the next SMALLEST size up. If I get away with small enough I wont have to redrill the bracket hole. It can be SAE if necessary.

I hope my question makes sense. Example: M10 to M12 is too big of a jump so m10 to 3/8" is the next most safe size without having to drill too oversize.

27/64ths would probably be the best choice to go to. 10mm = .3937" 27/64= .4219"

It would yeild a 1/2 x 13 thread. The next closest standard tap drill is a U. Which is smaller than .3937. .3680 to be precise.
