I run it. Daily driven. Its great. Any specific questions just post up, Im sure the other guys and I that run electric water pumps will help you out.

I got questions, lol.

how does it work? where does it mount? Where can I buy one? How much? Benefits over a regular water pump?

1. Just wire it up to a switch and wire the switch to a ignition wire under the dash. That way the pump will run when you have the Ignition ON and you can toggle it when the car is off (great for cooling down the engine after an autox run and reducing heat soak)

2a. It mounts in between the lower radiator hose. You have to cut the hose and place the hoses on the inlet and outlet of the pump and it has a bracket that you bolt up to the transmission housing. You also have to cut the little thermostat thimble off.

2b. Pictures of where it goes. Make sure to Loctite those bolts I circled! They fell out on me and I had to replace them

3. GofastDepot has the SR20 Kit from Meziere (i dont know if its in stock). There is also the Davies Craig electric water pump and water pump controller (really nice!).

4. Many benefits. Stock water pumps cavitate above 6K RPM and its as if no water would be flowing through the coolant passages. This eliminates water pump cavitation COMPLETELY.

Keeps the engine cooler. But does not overcool it in daily driving. I had overcooling issues in 34* temperature when I was driving from FL to TX and I drove through north Florida. Mind you I was only running distilled water and water wetter..... No Antifreeze. Next time I do my trip in December Ill be putting antifreeze in my system.

Less drag on the engine by eliminating the stock water pump. If you decide to remove your P/S like I did you'll only have to run 1 belt (A/C, Alternator, Crank) thereby reducing even more drag.

Oh and my car revs AND accelerates so much quicker now with a UR crank pulley, UR Alternator pulley, Fidanza 8.5lbs flywheel and 9.5lb wheels.

No. As long as you keep your thermostat in place and cut that little thimble or whatver its called you'll be fine. If you end up getting it PM me and Ill help out. I like helping local forum members.

Ha! thats cool. Youre car looks clean as heck!

wow, i exaggerated, i remembered your thread about looking for one a couple weeks ago, but yea i don't why i'm posting i never really give a poop about people not searching, being up @ 4am with the dogs makes me cranky. regardless the threads are out there..

you guys ever seen one of these actually flow tested off the car? it's really impressive! 20 gallons a minute, and that's just for our 4 bangers. the ones for small blocks etc get up to double that.
