Transmission issue?
I feel like a retard - when I switched everything in my car back to stock, I think I may have done one of the two following situations:
1) installed the shift lever in backwards (seemed pretty far backward shifting to 2nd or 4th, perhaps the bend was facing the wrong way?)
2) since putting the prothanes back to stock rubber mounts the engine bucked quite a bit when driving in reverse and the whole stick shift moved much more than normal between shifts (when the engine engages in all gears)

Now the car won't shift OUT of gear. what gear it's in I dont know, but I had to park it where is. I can get some tools and come back to fix it, does anyone have any idea what this could be, since I dont have a lot of time to fix it tonite before it gets dark in the parking lot I'd really rather not be in.

Oh, and it's stuck in gear with the car on or off, can't move the ****er.

Please help asap!

well if it's stuck in gear can you at least limp it home taking back roads using that gear?

i had a cable snap getting on the freeway once and had to match rpms and shift without using the clutch, but i didn't try i just got off and went slow. my dads car the clutch arm broke in 2nd gear and he gave me directions back to his house so i didn't have to drive fast.

I think that's really the best option right now because you need to get it somewhere so you can calmly asses the damage instead of try to hurry and finish. It could be so many different things and a parking lot you don't feel safe in is not the place to try and trouble shoot.

I'm thinking you might have engine mount issues. Like the rear mount is toast.

DAYUMN! One of the bolts that hold the bracket on to the engine backed RIGHT OUT of the hole! The whole engine was resting on the shift bracket. I was able to go back to work in the parking lot, jack up the car in the freaking rain, put the bolt (that was just barely still in the hole) back in and carefully drive it home. First thing in the morning I'll pull it out again and see if I got the two bolts backwards or something. anyways, it's running good again, thank goodness.

bolt for motor mount?

No, the bottom bolt that holds the bracket to the engine was gone, so the whole engine pivoted downwards on the top bolt and the mount.

Problem is now, I can't get the bolt to thread, it goes in maybe 2 turns then slips even with no pressure on it. I will likely have to get a longer bolt I think. Anyone know the thread pitch of our motor mount bolts? 1.5mm?

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't there about 5 bolts holding the rear motor mount to the transmission? (3) 14mm bolts behind the axle housing (including that pesky hidden one that is buried) and (2) 17mm near the starter? How did you manage to lose all of them!

is there really? hmmm...perhaps I'll take off the xmember and get a good look inside there, I wasn't aware of that - if that's the case a guy's gotta wonder why it didnt stay on.

I just looked on courtesy nissan's website and there's a bunch of bolts but I'm unsure where they go the photo sucks! does anyone have a photo of the bracket itself that shows where these bolts go through? it's impossible to see up in there if there's bolts there or not, I have to weasel my hand back there to see. A photo would be nice to see where they are supposed to go so when i'm feeling around in there I know what I'm feeling for.

Small 14' One For That Goes Inside Bracket In The Circle Hole, 17' That Goes Up Top Near Starter, 14'longer One That Goes Threw Shaft Closest To Rear Motor Mount, another One Threw Middle Of The Shaft Is Visable If Laying On The Ground
