DO'h, some car guy I am.
So, I find it nice to have 2 cars, since whenever one of them is down, I can still use the other one to go find parts, the only thing is, I haven't really had any mechanical issues in a while, so it's hard to choose which car to take. I made a deal that I'd drive each car for one tank, then switch. Whenever someone at work asks me which one I have, I say "The one with gas."
I've been driving the red car more and more lately, and I haven't touched the blue car in over 2 weeks. I decide to crank it up today and the engine begins to lurch violently and die. Now, I associated this issue with an alternator problem I have, when I start the car, I have to hit 3k for the alt to kick on, otherwise, I don't get enough spark and the car lurches. I charge the battery for 3 hours, I check all my connections, my engine is still lurching, even at throttle. I break out the vid camera because I'm out of ideas and I want to ask the dash, then I notice the gas gauge. Now, if I left the tank near empty, let the car sit for 2 weeks, whoops, I'm sucking up air.
So a quick dose of gas from the shed, let the pump circulate for a minute, and the car was back in the game. It's always the simplest things that cause the biggest nightmares
Anyway, that's my story for the night.
