Just typed in gasket after plugging in 93 G20 and this came up.

I have used the felpro gasket on my VE-T for over a year without a drip of oil coming out. Obviously they are different than either the highport or RWD but are the same as the lowport.

because IMO gaskets are better if they are available. Gaskets are waaaay easier to clean off the mating surfaces than rtv. Also Im PRETTY SURE that Rittmiester knows how to apply RTV.....

Have you re-attempted the RTV without success? It's so difficult to line up and get it on straight, I'm always afraid I'm going to smear it around and f it up. Did you let it cure before adding oil?

I can't understand why it would randomly fail without any damage. I actually stepped on one and bent the lip. I used a mallet on a flat piece of wood to straighten it out. I was afraid it was going to leak, but I didn't have any issues.

Felpro part number OS30646C

Allegedly fits. Found this at a Pep Boys parts counter. Found the same thing on Autozone's website.

TheRealNighthog, thanks for answering the original question. And for the moral support.

Swiss, I've tried it several times; the last time I ran two beads (one around the inner part of the flange, the other along the outside) AND surrounded all the boltholes with their own circle of RTV. The stock pan worked without leaking, and a fake Greddy pan worked for 3-4 years, being removed/replaced a number of times, without any trouble at all. I'm trying to fit a Moroso pan right now, hence the problems.

I've been using gray RTV as spec'd by the FSM. I am going to try one more time with either "the right stuff," Hondabond, or orange/copper RTV, all of which have been recommended to me to try. If that doesn't work, it'll have to be a gasket from some aftermarket Japanese Felpro equivalent or something, wish me luck, or if I can find someone to cut a custom gasket.

or you can shave the pan down lightly at a machine shop an level it out then use honda bond or w/e kind of sealant.. all sealants work if they dont work then pan is warped..

I've also consider using a dremel to cut a shallow groove into the mating flange on the pan; the stock pan has the groove, the Freddy did too, but the Tomei pan and now the Moroso pan don't, and they're the ones I can't get to work.

Ah, so the problems started with the Moroso pan?

It probably would be pretty easy to make your own gasket. You can get big rolls of gasket maker at auto parts stores.
