i have a spark problem
today i was driving my lucino and sudenly turned off and doesnt want to start again , i just pushed to a side of the street and after a few minutes latter i tried to turned on and boyla the car was alive i drove like 3 blocks and the damm car turned off again so i called a friend of mine to tow the car to my parents house and there i check tha the fuel pump was working and it seems to be fine, checked te voltje of the alternator and some fuses an everything looks fine, the i cheked if there was a spark on the sparkplug wires and there´s not, i few hours latter a tried to turn on the car and again there was alive but once again after a while the car turned off. its like something was cutting the spark

i think that there´s something wrong with my distributor and maybe when the internal coil gets hot its stop working right. any advise i´d ratter to find and fix the problem by me with your help, i dont trust in mechanics any more.

I believe a bad distributor is bad and doesnt 'work' again after 'cooling' the engine.

I have similar problem, but I did not take a look at the quality of the spark, because in my case, there was no need.

I got ECU error 21, which I can't make dissapear (though I managed that a single time somehow and don't ask why. I was quite happy with that, and minutes later I discovered it came back).

What happens with my car is that it stalls all the time and after 'cooling' it fires up again. There is an alarm left in the car which wasn't quite removed but they let the 'alarmECU' in the car.

Maybe, just maybe you have also noticed 'remains' of alarm like a switch under the hood or something else.

In that case it might be a good idea to suspect the wiring. It's the ECU or the alarm that takes away the ignition because the alarm was wired between the ECU and engine.

So it might even be wiring without having any alarm left in your car. Also, good idea to check for errorcodes. With a paperclip. That's because the ECU will notice when there is no spark and for sure will throw out a code.

It could also be something in the 'ignition module' (which probably is a confusing term I just used, lacking a betere one)

But IDK how that works, what it is exactly and what are the symptoms if it fails. I hope somebody else can teach me that.

Check your battery cables, and your ground wire especially. Then check misc grounds, and report back.

The coil can separate if cracked under high heat. When the engine cools the contacts seem to be fine, and the car will run fine again. Cold solder joints iirc.
