Thread: mitsubishi shift knob

so my dude keeps talking about his damn weighted shift knobs blah blah blah

so i look around for a minute, i don't want somthing metal because i'm a puzzy and don't want to get my hand cold in the winter so on ebay i come across an auction from bruce titus mitsu...

which i later find out to be nissanparts.cc


anyway i guess this is the 2nd gen eclipse shift knob which is weighted about 3/4 of a pound. mitsu part number MR263906

the threads are right but when i first put it on it wasn't clocked correctly...

so i end up trying out a few different washers to get it headed to 12 o clock..




so all is well but my shift boot is hangin a little low for my likeing

so i take an old bushing from a skateboard truck enlarge the inside diamater and use that to hold the boot in place.






and we have the finished product (boot is momo shifter is b&m rip off car is B14) i may see if there is a mitsu boot that matches but from what i rember they are really short.

I live in saskatchewan where winters are -50 celcius and my greddy metal knob didnt bother me in the slightest... sissy.

I picked up the same knob from the same place (Bruce Titus Mitsu dealership on ebay). For those of you who don't know this knob is the same as the AMS Hammer. Ironically my previous car was a '95 Mitsubishi Mirage that uses the same knob.

Mine replaced some tacky aluminum knob installed by the previous owner, and yes I too am a wimp and couldn't stand scalding my hand during the summer. I replaced the shift lever with a shorter lever from ebay at the same time and overall I'm pretty happy with it.

For my boot sliding problem I just wrapped a 1/8" worth of electrical tape around the lever.

not bad man i like it. maybe i will get one for the egg beater although i already have two nismo knobs so maybe not haha

my b&m shift knob burnt the shazz outta me the other day lol
