Thread: need a quick answer on oil pump housings

right are there any outside differences in oil pump housings..

i know internally there are differences but externally are all FWD sr20 oil pump housings the same?

smoeone on our fourm has made an underdrive pully that will not fit the almera oil pump but claims it will fit the primera but i personally dont think there are differences..

















you can see he has reduced the diameter of the inside wheel to much so it no longer fits over the bulge on the housing..

are there any FWD oil pumps without the bulge?

This is my VE oil pump for comparison. I can't tell if it has the hump you're talking about or not but it doesn't look like it does. However maybe the one big hump it does have is as large as the two that you have? Very hard to tell without good measurements.

look at the timing mark indicator on both pictures as a common refrence..

the inner belt covers it in the last picture on the UR pully if the belt was attached it would be no where near..
