yeah i was also wondering the same thing. Previous owner decided to never change the wipers and i can see where the aged wiper rubber has scratched the glass.

tried to buff it out but w/ no luck

the glass polish kit is for scratches,,,, if the scratches are deep ,, then your wasting your time.,., if there minor scratches the polish will make your windshield look new for months.. and yes it will need to be done again after a few months of rain/washing on the car.. just waxing your car,, it will only last so long before you need to repeat.

the Bon Ami is for hard water stains and acid rain spots, you know the ones that just won't go away when you dry the car off,,,,

so first you would want to get rid of the scratches by doing the polish step,,,, and after the clean up only, you would want to use the Bon Ami if there are water spots that won't rub off when you dry the outside of the windshield off,,,,, more than likely you won't have the water spots on the windshield untill you wash the car later! But the sides of the car will have the spots,, so if no water spots ,, no Bon Ami needed on windshield.

so use it on the sides as well as the windshield

that Bon Ami works real good if you follow the directions.,.

hmmm, so I'm guessing we use the Bon Ami Cleaning Powder for the windshield. I was reading that the powder can cause scratches on certain windshields, but I'm guessing those that have used it here on our windshields never had an issue?

If you live in florida drive on the highway. In 2 weeks time I had a pebble shoot off a truck and break my se-r windshield and then something else came up off the road and broke my g20 windshield. FML good thing florida highways covers a free new windshield. I just gotta call up my insurance company and I'll soon have 2 brand new windshields for free.

Do you guys run FULL coverage on your cars?
Because as far as I know thats the only way it will be free(I tried)
If not,I would love to see proof of how to get a free windshield for a car that only has basic coverage.
Please enlighten me on this.

Well, I went outside and cleaned the windshield today w/some Invisible Glass and #0000 steel wool. Didn't make a dent in what I thought/hoped were hard water stains. It seems that I have thousands of small pitting marks all over my windshield. I guess the next step is try a glass polisher or take it to a glass shop or replace the windshield. I really only notice it when sunlight is directly on the windshield.
