dude you have to do things the right way . you remove the tie rod by banging the side of the tie rod end of the knuckle ...

see my thread for some info

you are aware there is a tool for this right?
rent it at your local autoparts store
hub/axle puller

it bolts to your lugs and has a threaded hole in the center for a bolt to go through to push the axle out

I never had a problem with these axles - just gotta angle it right, it wasn't about brute force getting it out. btw the tool matt put up works, but I accidentally seperated my bearing from the hub using that tool ... so I'll never use it myself but...

To pull the axle you most definitely do NOT have to remove the tie rod.

Remove the shock by removing the two bolts.

Unbolt the axle, leave the nut on the end half threaded. Pull the hub so it is at an angle and beat the piss outta the axle.

It should not be hard to get loose.

Then pull the axle out by hand, one hand on the hub, one on the back of the axle.

Takes 10minutes or less..

Grease the splines so next time it comes out by hand.

I remove the tie rod because it's easy to do so. If you have a tough time removing it, then try dudemans' suggestion

Some do find it easier.

Regardless of wither you use canx2k's or my suggested method, the end result is that the axle should brake loose from the hub fairly easily. Let us know.

One other thing I did want to mention is if you leave the hub connected and just undo the axle nut it would make it allot easier to brake the axle loose from the hub if the hub is still attached to the strut and tie rod.

i found the easiest way to remove it from the hub is to use a prybar to hold the hub in place. once u do that, it should be cake.

right- if the axle is truely attached to the hub (wont budge at all) then a BFH and the axle nut 3-4threads on the axle is the answer.
