Thread: Handful of problems after putting motor in

this car amazes me, it was fine last night maybe because it was warmed up? now i try again today and thething stalls itself out again, i watch the fuel pressure at idle and it went from 45ish to like 55ish and thats when it wanted to stall out

Ok so i made a ton of headway, i needed my car this weekend for an auto-x(mini go kart track). So i took it to nissan to see what codes it might have been throwing.
1-temp sensor-so i changed it and we were still throwing the code and there was another spot in the harness over by the distributor that has to be plugged in for it, so that was fixed
2-then my o2 sensor was bad, put another one and it seemed ok
3-changed my plugs and gapped them to .025 and at wot the car runs great, ran great being pounded all day today
but
normal driving there is a hesitation up to 3k pretty bad, if im on the gas it goes way, if im just a lil bit on the throttle it'll buck.
any ideas on that? I dont think its the gapped plugs because that was always the gap i ran so i wouldnt have a missfire in the higher rpms

dumping to much fuel

Doesn't sound like he's dumping too much fuel, sounds like not enough fuel. stuttering and hesitation can be from a week spot in the map where he's running too much timing or not enough fuel.

What do your AFR's look like?

yeah same thing haha. he also said his plugs were rather black so I was going with the rich side of life.

True, but you need to look at the electrode and ground, not the base of the plug to tell whether it's lean/rich/etc.

Maybe he's referring to the base of the plug?

possibl sir possibly. at this point all I can do is speculate. he wont know what the afrs are so idk what to say

the plugs arent black anymore, they are back to not white white but before that point. I havent put a wideband on it yet

still have this hesitation when cruising. Its starting to drive me nuts. Car runs awesome at wot. but at daily cruising it has this hesitation then wehn i let off the gas it does a backfire. so i figure its running stupid rich?
anyone have a idea? ive searched but nothing comes up, im actually stumped at this point
