why not pull the curreent head and rebuild it, shouldnt be too expensive, and you would know for sure you have a good head, its always nice to have good head

so after 4 hours of tuggin. swetin and all. here it is.
is it supposed to be that gunked up in the intake mani and on the cylinders?



heres some pics of the ware on cyl 3 and 4 exhaust lobes.

Get a close up shot of Cylinder #4 please. Kinda hard to tell, but it looks as though you've got an issue there. The carbon isn't so bad, that could actually help with lower cylinder compression numbers. Looking at the carbon on the cylinder walls and around the surface of the block though, I'd just rip it apart and make it minty fresh again.

Secondly, those lobes looking like that would equal oil starvation. Looks like the head is pretty tarnished probably again from oil starvation. It doesn't really look sludgy

Still not as bad as Vadim's was, but now that you've got the head off, you can disassemble it, and take it to be tanked and cleaned up like new again.

yeah i can get it washed at the school. We have all the chemical crap there. Whats wrong with cyl 4? your talkin about the water on top?

on the pic of the head it kinda looks like there are some scouring on the camshaft journals, but its hard to tell really.

so motors all apart. Nothing is super obvious. Looks normal besides the carbon all over the place. pics later.
