I've been thinking about going Azenis RT-615's but 205/40/16, 215/45/16, and 225/50/16 are the only 16" sizes they make. I don't know a lot about tires, I think the 40's are going to be narrower, the 215's are going to be taller, and the 225/50's are going to be taller and wider? Is anyone running this Azenis's on a B13 with RM's? Or does anyone have a better idea for a new tire? Sentra is my DD/weekend toy for the most part, and I need something that's going to stick like glue when it's dry, and sill let me drive around (at least 70) when it's raining.Whatever I get must work with RM's Thanks for your help.

So you know for future reference:

205 = tire width. 45 = tire height. 16 = (obviously, wheel diameter)

If you're running a 205/45/16 now, and on a B13, you will have few problems running a 215/50/16 or a 225/50/16. Your contact patch will be wider, and the running diameter of the wheel/tire will increase a bit, but that's a good thing when trying to keep traction.

I've got a little room now and I think I could stand to run a bigger tire. I just want to make sure I don't have to buy new tires after I get my springs. I've found Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec's in a 205/50/16. That would be the same height with a little more width, I've found nothing but good reviews on them, both FWD and RWD, don't know how biast the opinions are tho. If they will fit that seems like my best option as of now, if they will fit.

SkySheperd is dead nuts accurate on those Kumhos, per Car & Drivers recent testing.

2) Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. Outlapped the Michelins in the dry. Second only to the Michelin's in the wet. (Way less expensive than the Dunlops as well).

3) Kumho Ecsta XS. The best dry traction of all. In the wet they sucked. Described as "diabolical" and "unpredictable." Great for autocross, you better drive like Grandma in the wet.

4) Bridgestone Potenza RE760. Third best lap time in the dry, behind the Dunlops and Kumhos. Reasonable in the wet.

5) BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW. Average dry performance. OK in the wet.

6) Yokohama S.Drive. Average at best.

7) Falken Azenis RT-615. Above average dry autocross time. Considerably below average in the wet.

8) Nitto Invo. Sucked.

9) Ling Long L688. Sucked.

I paraphrased a few things, but you get the idea.

My money would be on the #2 tire, the Hankooks. They are neck and neck with the Dunlops which squeaked out the win. However, the Dunlops (in the size tested) are the second most expensive tire behind the "benchmark, uber expensive" Michelins. The Hankooks are the second least expensive tire, nearly beat the Dunlops, and outperformed them in the wet.

That's like all sorts of wrong on many levels. So close, but so far away.
Try again?

Okay okay, aspect ratio. It's easier to explain to people that it's the sidewall height, though.

You could have just said sidewall height (instead of tire height) and I would have left you alone. =D
That's still dumbed down, but "good enough".

I guess I mean, I think of sidewall height when I say tire height. Surely someone doesn't assume the entire height of the tire when I say that?

The drag racers and off roaders think in real tire height all the time.

Yeah, but this isn't an off roading forum where they talk about 33" or 35" tires.
