since the bolts have no actual torque applied to them, they can't " shear " off.

do what Canx2k suggested. A good " cheap " fluid for our cars is the napa GL-4 stuff, last time i bought some for like 4 bucks each. It takes a little less than 4 qts.

As long as no grinding or wierd noises are heard you should be ok.

Order the bolts from Nissan and check your axle for any damage

Thank you Everybody for your help! took the axle out, splines on the axle and the seal were surprisingly fine. bolted the bracket. put the axle back in. drove it around. no grinding! woot woot.
