Ok maybe its the late nights that I've been pulling the past few days... But you think your car is making more power than a stock se-r because bonestock they run 15.9.... Yet you advanced the timing AND have a pop charger and you managed a 15.9?? I would say your modified se-r is on par with a stock se-r. Of course your motor is making more power than stock, you advanced the timing and added a pop charger.

Why would you think you have a freak motor?

Well considering those times were made when the cars were brand new, and his made that with just a filter and timing change without the car being as "new." That's my theory at least.

Not to mention his car is lowered on GC/AGXs thereby reducing aerodynamic drag. I don't want to rain on the guys parade but im just throwing that out there. Also, USDM motors had EGR crap to deal with. JDM motors do not.

In case you didn't know, cars lose power as the elevation rises. (less air) The elevation of my local track is 4,800 feet. That's probably a loss of around 25hp or more. No way a timing advance and a pop charger make up for that by themselves. Something is definitely up here.

Often the car magazines (C&D, R&T, Motortrend, Automobile) will compare the quarter mile times of their long term cars from when they first received the car to when the car has ~30k miles on them. Just about every time that I recall the numbers with the car being broken in are about ~.2 sec faster. They usually attribute the gain to the engine breaking in and less friction in the driveline.

This is far from scientific so take it for what its worth.

My B13 SE-R ran consistent 16.6's when I bought it and raced it. I'm confident with a little tweaking and a better driver it could have done a 15.2 just like others have done with stock SE-Rs.

It's all in the driver and setup I'd imagine.
