wierd cluster temp guage problem
so today im drivin, takn it easy on the nx wehn i look down at the guage cluster and the temp guage was burrying itself past H !!!!,

but when i was battling coolong probs a while back, i spliced into a main waterlines and installed anew rad and an aftermarket h20 temp guage and i never go past 200*

i noticed as i was puling over to se WTF was going on...i really wasnt overheating but the cluster guage is whack...it was bounciin all over the place as i was downshifting and coming to a stop.. as i hit the throttle sometimes it would go to normal temp but would go right back, past H..

im thinking coolant temp sensor? or some wiring is messed up...i had also just recently installed an safc2 but that shoul not affect this..

this problem seems to pop up frequently - clean the spade connector and clip on the thermister. no go, replace the thermistor ($15) no go, check continuity on the wire and the gauge. Since it's resistance based, huge resistance would indicate a higher temp. Continuity is good with not much resistance? Change the gauge in the cluster.

That and perhaps you're due for a coolant flush - might have a couple o' air bubbles in there causing high temp readings.

takes literally 5 minutes with a stubby 10mm wrench. make sure you got some teflon tape, and check out my 'how to' on the coolant temp sensor. Even though you're not replacing the cts, there's info there on the thermister.
