Thread: squeaky belt??

Can a belt squeal from being to tight? I think my p/s belt is to tight and squeaking up a storm??? If not what else could cause this??

how tight is it? you want some slack in the best but not alot, but too tight can prematurly wear out the water pump, if the best isnt too tight then you might want to try some belt dressing

Yeah I am going to go loossen it a tad the also use some belt dressing.
