Is there a reason you don't want to go with the tried and true method?

You should be fine just plugging up the pipe if that's the way you want to do it.

it's just a temporary fix until I get a VE. Where would a guy get a high temperature rubber bung for said pipe, or can someone suggest a better way to plug the thing?

Yeah, cut some alumium sheet and block the fitting off at the manifold.

ha ha as I said, it was a temp fix, 1 week max, so I dont want to have to take off the dizzy, etc to get to that spot, just want to plug the tube so it looks stock in case someone pulls me over.

Why did you take it off to begin with?

Just pinch the hose shut. I highly doubt someone's NOT going to notice an EGR pipe no longer connected to your header. If you're worried about being pulled over and them checking under your hood, you're screwed anyway.

He probably planned to do things differently (maybe a nickle behind the flared line) until the damn thing wouldn't come off and he had to resort to caveman tactics.
