Thread: MPG gone down the crapper

you see the hose that is directly connected into the valve cover by the oil cap, thats the pcv vlve.

you casn just unscrew it out of the valve cover and test it

So I replaced my knock sensor, and check my timing, 11*!!!! So bumped it up to 17* and resetting my ecu by letting it sit with the battery disconnected for a while.

I advise you guys make sure your timing is good.

Also, I would clean out the inside of the Intake Manifold with some carb cleaner... stupid EGR gets that thing dirty!

did replacing those things fix your problems?

Time will tell, so next gas tank or sooner will see

How do you check if you injectors are stuck by listening to it with a screw driver ?
I read that's how some people check.
My problem is that sometimes I'll get like 56 miles on a quarter tank but other
times I'll get like 34 miles on a quarter tank. I only take it to 3.5 to get up a
hill to school which is only like 2 miles away. Does anyone have any ideas
what's wrong ? I have a 98' SE-R and it's an Auto with only 84, 000 miles

Filled up last night and got 112 miles out of a half tank will see how the rest of the tank goes.

Thats about 6 gallons?

If so 18MPG... sounds kinda like mine if I do city only.

Is this city only or mixed?

I've managed 180 for 6 gallons, only happened once, most likely it was mostly highway.

90% highway driving.
