yes that is it. shake it if it rattles its good. if it doesnt than its either stuck open or stuck closed, if it doesnt rattle iwould buy a new one they are like 10.00......you can also clean yours out anyway with carb cleaner even if its does rattle. mine rattled and i cleaned it anyway and it was dirty so eh just for safe measures...i would pull the hose too and clean it

Can you please define shaking? Like shake the whole block or just the tube?

NVM, Mr. Sneakers filled me in what to do. Didn't think about taking it off... hehe

32 front 29 rear, alignment was done about a month ago so it's good.running the heater every once in a while, and no extra weight in the car.

How as your MPG around this time last year?

Do you preheat your car before driving or do you drive it cold till it gets warm?

What kind of driving do you do? City, highway, mixed?

When was the last time you replaced the O2 sensor? Replace with a new Bosch one.

Idle at 900 RPM? Isn't that a little high? When the car is worm, my car idles at about 750-800

My MPG right now is about 22MPG mixed driving. But my knock sensor code is showing, so I will be replacing the knock sensor and will see if that helps.

I was able to get a universal Bosch O2 sensor for my car for $30 shipped on eBay. Check my post out on how to install it etc.

Now I also ordered a new Knock Sensor, Genuine OEM Nissan one for $60 shipped at eBay.

Interesting, I'll have to find that valve and try shacking it

My MPG has been the same since I got the car up until three weeks to a month ago.I always warm the car up to at least 120 degrees before drivingThe 900rpm idle is due to Prothane motor mounts cuts down on vibration a little. When I checked the ECU this morning no codes were shown.I also put in a new Bosh o2 sensor back in June.

to check pcv with it still on the car.
Per FSM,
with the car idling, pinch the hose that connects to the PCV, your idle should drop. If it doesnt, you have a bad pcv.

just pull out the pcv valve and shake the pcv valve, if it rattlesl ike a rattle can its good. personally the fsm i wouldnt be able to pinch that pcv tube its pretty hard lol.. either way would work, i would still clean it either way becyase they can flow and still be dirty, mine was dirty and it helped with my idle after i cleaned it

Will try both methods tonight, the hose is pretty thick to just pinch haha

Oddly...I only got about 20 mpg to my last tank of gas. I about cried. With high gas prices and the income of a cheap college student, I can't take it. The only thing I did different was add a little fuel injector cleaner...I know it's not great for the car, but I thought getting 23-24 was bad so it was worth a shot. Plus...it just started getting cold here in south east Ohio the past week or so now, so that has to come into play.

It also doesn't help that I can't figure out my High Idle for the life of me either...1100-1700rpm!!! Horrible
